Residential Video Surveillance
Generally, Customers interested in residential video surveillance applications have a need to surveil the perimeter of their home 24 hours a day and archive video for retrieval later, and/or to surveil interior spaces where valuables are kept or in-house activities need to be monitored, e.g. housekeeping, babysitting, nursery monitoring, etc.
Typically, these systems offer indoor/outdoor cameras in one to four camera configurations with digital recording and power supplies. Cameras can be wired or wireless, connected to a standalone recorder or transmitting video via IP protocols to a server equipped with camera management software. These cameras capture video in black and white, color, and/or IR-illuminated.

AXIS
These network-based cameras offer both wired and/or wireless connection with up to 30 frames per second of VGA resolution. The cameras come equipped with integrated motion detectors, LED's for illuminating the area upon detected motion, as well as two way communication via integrated microphones and speakers. They are extremely small in size and have flexible mounting configurations. JPEG, MPEG, and the latest H.264 compression technologies are facilitated. This is a server-based camera platform with camera management software available for purchase. Cameras are static IP-addressed for Internet/LAN access.
GE Tru-Vision
GE's Tru-vision cameras are more traditional, wired cameras operating at 12v through transformers or common power supplies. They produce color video by day and convert to black and white in low light conditions. In fact, they can see in total darkness up to 82'. The Tru-vision camera line comes with auto-iris, vari-focal lenses up to 12 mm. Both dome camera and bullet camera configurations are available. These cameras depend on a standalone digital recorder for video archiving. Fleenor Security Systems offers recorder products by CBC America Ganz and GE.
