Commercial Paging/Sound Reinforcement

Fleenor Security is often called on to provide paging/sound reinforcement systems for clients in the commercial, retail, financial, hospitality, and arts and entertainment industries, in an effort to improve the customer's internal communication.

We have also been involved in providing these systems in schools and government offices, e.g. court rooms. For this market, we offer Bogen mixer/amplifier and microphone, and Soundsphere speaker products.

A typical configuration would include an amplifier, sometimes with an integrated sound source e.g. tuner, driving one or many speakers throughout a room or a facility. Amplifiers are sized to accommodate the speaker load requirement. Speaker type and placement is an engineered effort, to maximize sound distribution and volume potential.

Microphones come in a wide variety, e.g. wired, wireless, desk-, wall-, or ceiling- mounted, handheld, and boundary type.

Here are a few customer goals we address in designing a paging/sound reinforcement system: Make general announcements to locate personnel or announce visitors/incoming calls. Use different tones to signal responses needed for various security situations, shift changes, breaks, etc. Provide quick critical event notification and transmit directives in response. Establish a sound monitoring capability, e.g. is equipment running. Play background music to enhance the shopping, waiting, etc. experience. Allow rooms to receive only music or only pages, perhaps even different music sources for particular rooms. Need to control speaker volume in each room, either manually or automatically. Need to provide an emergency, all-call paging capability, inside and outside the building.
